Fewer people are being diagnosed with cancer as a result of paused screenings and fewer referrals LV= has paid over £22.7m in cancer claims so far this year, its H1 claims stats show, however in April there was a 45% drop in critical illness (CI) claims. Figures from a recent HDR study show that there could be up to 35,000 excess cancer-related deaths as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
