When the policyholder dies “willingly” within a stipulated time frame, generally one year from the commencement of risk under a policy or from the date of revival of the policy, which is considered a contract ab initio, the claim filed is rejected. Rejection of the claim...

A new survey by the South African SME Finance Association (SASFA) shows that despite the help offered by government and the private sector, only a fraction of businesses had any support. Only 47% of business owners applied for relief from government or financial institutions, because many did not believe they would qualify. Even amongst the 47% who did apply, only 32% were successful. This means that a mere 15% of SMEs with a turnover of below R10 million per annum, had any support. A former Thai health minister has contacted Oxford over the possible purchase, though other countries including South Korea were trying to do the same, said Deputy Health Minister Sathit Pitutecha. Rishi Sunak has gained a reputation for underpromising and overdelivering in his eventful five months at the Exchequer. Despite the scale of Sunak’s efforts to date, economists and business leaders fear he will fall short when he presents a much-anticipated recovery package on Wednesday. T he Narendra Modi government needs to present a new budget for 2020-21. The gross tax revenue it hopes to earn during the course of the year is simply not achievable now. In 2019-20, the Modi government had earlier hoped to earn gross tax revenue amounting to Rs 24.61 lakh crore. The gross tax revenue is a sum of various taxes such as corporate tax, personal income tax, union excise duty, goods and services tax (GST), customs, etc., that the government hopes to earn.
